PRIVATE YOGA

Roll out your mat....

I love teaching yoga.

Whether I'm teaching in-person or on-line, a retreat/workshop or a general class, the shared experiences and deep connections, are the same. I love being part of that shared experience and helping to create a feeling of community.

That said, there are sound reasons why a private Yoga session, working one-to-one with a teacher can be hugely beneficial.

Traditionally Yoga was only taught one-to-one. Teachers shared their wisdom and experience directly with a student. Ancient Yogis acknowledged the importance of adaptive teaching to accommodate the needs and nuances of each student as an individual.

What are the benefits of a private Yoga lesson?

A safe environment for beginners to develop their practice and build confidence.

Taking that first step to begin your Yoga journey can be the most difficult one. Students often feel overwhelmed at the idea of joining a general class, with concerns about not being bendy enough or unable to keep up. It’s a commonly, shared anxiety.

A private session equips the beginner with the foundations needed for a safe and effective yoga practice, giving the confidence that’s perhaps needed to join that class and to be able to then modify their practice to meet their own needs.

Develop a practice that can support health concerns or injuries.

It’s well documented how beneficial Yoga can in be when recovering from certain illnesses or specific injuries.

A group environment may not be conducive to recovery therefore a practice specifically tailored to accommodate the individuals needs, can more safely help the journey towards wellness.

Focus on personal goals.

A one-to one session allows students to focus on personal interests, goals and concerns. Perhaps there is a particular pose you would like to master, or maybe there is an aspect of your practice like meditation or breathing that you would like to develop or a specific area of the body that is calling for your attention.

Private sessions can accommodate even the busiest of schedules.

It can be hard to find time to practice. Maybe you are too busy to get to your favourite class or the time simply (and annoyingly!) doesn't work for you.

Scheduling your class at a time that works best does lead to a consistent and rewarding practice.
