A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Updated: Jun 18, 2023

Hello I'm Jo.

It's so nice to meet you.

Just a little bit about me, so you can get to know me better.

  • I spend my time moving between the Ribble Valley Lancashire and Snowdonia North Wales, though my spiritual home is somewhere much, much warmer.

  • I would describe myself as an introverted performer. I’m quiet and low key by nature (the explanation for my tricky relationship with social media.) but I do love holding space to share my passion for Yoga and guiding a group through a practice.

  • I’ve been practising Yoga for as long as I can remember and a qualified teacher for about 12 years. It’s been a slow and organic journey into full-time teaching.

  • I absolutely LOVE my job. I teach from my heart and from experience, not from a book. My classes are drawn from my study across many traditions.

  • I'm very interested in all aspects of wellbeing. Movement, mindfulness, nutrition and touch therapies. In a former life I was a beauty therapist and ran my own business for many years and I am an advanced Thai Yoga massage practitioner.

  • Pre-pandemic I was running my own Studio. Teaching too many classes a week, as well as workshops and retreats and on the brink of burn out, though at the time, I wasn’t aware of it.

  • Two years later ( and not without it's challenges ) I have a thriving online community which I love. I've seen student's practice transform, with more affordable and easy access to classes. I’ve massively reduced the number of hours I teach each week and I think I’m much better teacher for it. It has given me more time for my own practice, to offer corporate events, guest teach at other studios and cover classes for local teachers which is so much fun.

  • I’m married to Ged. He's kind, funny, the most amazing human I have ever met. He is a super talented and successful Musician, which comes in very handy as he very often joins me in class to create the most beautiful soundscapes to support our practices. The flip side is he spends long periods away on tour traveling all over the world...( I do get to visit! ).

  • I love studying and since my most recent training in Menopause I've been diving into all aspects of wellbeing for women's health.

What else?

  • I’m a failed Vegan but committed Vegetarian.

  • Yes, I do drink wine!

  • I long for hot sunny days riding around Europe on the back of Ged’s beloved motorcycle. This Summer I hope…

  • I love fashion, dancing, reading, film, travel, tulips, croissants and the smell honeysuckle on a warm Summers evening.

So, in short just trying to live a balanced and sustainable life whilst sharing the transformational power of Yoga.

I hope to meet you soon...

Love

Jo x
